OVERVIEW
In this challenging workshop actors learn to create strong distinctive characters for film and television.
Which actors create great characters?
Johnny Depp is a character actor. So is Eli Wallach. So is Meryl Streep. So is Kathy Bates.
Everyone knows Johnny Depp and Meryl Streep but Eli Wallach and Kathy Bates are lesser-known talents.
Eli Wallach has worked for more than 60 years in film and TV and was born in 1915.
He is currently shooting GHOST WRITER with Ewan McGregor, Pierce Brosnan and Kim Cattrall.
Not bad for a 95 year old. In fact he has not stopped working since 1951.
Doing character work can give an actor a long and rewarding career! To find out more about Kathy Bates just check out her IMDb entry!
So, what makes a great character? There must be something different in voice, movement,
or the emotional core and there must be a characteristic of humanity that all viewers can identify with.
