Our one year Video Game Programming program is designed for those gamers who are fascinated by how games work and how to add wow factor with amazing visual effects, fun gameplay, brilliant artificial intelligence and more. As the builder of the game world, you’re responsible for turning a video game concept into reality. If you find coding and math a little easier than most, you have a great opportunity to break into the game industry at a higher level immediately than most upon graduation. This program will focus on the fundamentals required to work on any professional video game and graduates will find themselves with some of the more sought after skill sets in the industry.
The Videogame Programming Intensive provides students with training and practical knowledge in the field of programming for videogames. It is designed to give students an entry level knowledge in how to Program Videogames, giving them the necessary foundation for being hired as Junior Programmers inside of the videogame industry. Students will train under industry professionals, learning industry standard techniques, software and technology. Guest speakers throughout the program will provide students with valuable insight on excelling in the programming field. Beyond the technical knowledge learned during the program, students will also be given the tools and knowledge needed to find employment as programmers in professional game design houses.

The Videogame Programming Intensive prepares students for careers as professional videogame programmers, working in the videogame industry. The skills acquired are also advantageous for programming careers outside of the videogame industry. Our programs have been designed to deliver “all killer, no filler” industry-standard training that will make students employable and competitive upon graduation.
At the end of this program students will have both the tools and real world experience to be able to perform the role of a junior programmer. They will know entry level skills in a variety of Game Programming disciplines. They will also have the basic business skills required to create their own small game development companies.
Over a period of 48 weeks, students in The Videogame Programming Intensive will experience a dynamic 952 hour program of classroom instruction.
To qualify for full-time training in SchoolCreative’s Video Game Programming Diploma Program:
Applicants with mature students status, and/or students whose first language is not English, below are the minimum scores required from any one of the following tests in English proficiency: IELTS, TOEFL, TOEIC or Cambridge. If necessary, we may also require a telephone or in-person interview.
Our game design programs have one intake per year occurring in September. This 52 week program runs Monday through Friday between the hours of 9:00 am and 6:30 pm with classes scheduled in varying blocks of either 9:00 am – 1:30pm or 2:00 pm – 6:30 pm. We are always accepting applications for upcoming terms, please find start dates below.
