The Digital Photography program is an in-depth exploration of the artistic side of photography with an equally strong exposure to the technical and business side of the industry. Students will have plenty of hands on opportunities capturing moments with their cameras as well as extensive training to digitally finesse and showcase their images. The opportunities and diversity for professional photographers are numerous. Core areas of focus in this program will include: events, weddings, commercial, fashion, landscape, wildlife, action/sports, architecture and more.
The Digital Photography program provides students with technical and creative training in the craft and business of digital photography. It is designed to give participants a comprehensive understanding in all aspects required to work in the modern photography industry. Taught by currently working professionals, students will learn industry standard techniques, software and technology that is being used in the industry now. As members of professional associations, our instructors provide networking opportunities that will give students that extra edge in gaining employment upon graduation. This course not only teaches technical and artistic skills, but also provides students with invaluable business know-how – essential for any artist serious about pursuing a career as a professional photographer.
The Digital Photography program consists of 8 modules that include classroom instruction and practical shooting components. The class time has 2 focuses: “Education” and “Critique”. In the “Education” component students will be instructed and put through a series of lectures that allow them to understand and apply the techniques and skill sets for the assigned areas they are currently working on. Instruction in digital workflow and post-processing of images is also included. In the “Critique” component the students will receive feedback on their work along with group discussions relevant to the shoot. The practical shooting component is divided into demonstrations as well as personal and group shooting assignments.
The Digital Photography program prepares students for careers as professional photographers with a focus on working in their chosen photographic field. Fields covered in this program will include: events, weddings, commercial, fashion, landscape, wildlife, action/sports, architecture and more. The skills acquired are also advantageous to those interested in working as photographic editors or photography assistants. Our programs have been designed to deliver “all killer, no filler” industry-standard training that will make students employable and competitive upon graduation.
Over a period of 12 months, students in The Digital Photography Intensive will experience a dynamic 952 hour program that is comprised of 552 hours of classroom instruction and demonstrations and 400 hours of practical skills application.

As an avid photographer, you appreciate the process of manipulating light in the best possible way. In the same respect, you know that the best photos are rarely accidental. Great photos involve a number of factors, each element working with the other to compose the most striking shot. In much the same way, becoming the best photographer involves a collaboration of efforts. SchoolCreative will help nurture the talent that lies within.
