Comedy is about sharing your point of view, finding some truths, and connecting with your audience. In our Graduate level Comedy Program you’ll learn to interpret your world in new and insightful ways. You’ll delve deep into your subconscious to find what it is that makes you tick. You’ll learn the ins and outs of the industry and how you can do this and still pay the rent. We can’t guarantee that you’ll finish this program funnier, but we can guarantee that you’ll learn what you can do to turn your jokes into a career.
At the end of this graduate Comedy program, students will be able to identify and perform the many different styles and types of comedy, create unique “characters” for the many different styles of comedy, write comedy, (stand-up comedy and sketch-comedy) and perform roles in all facets of acting, primarily in the area of comedy.
Successful graduates will be able to find work as professional actors, comedy writers and stand-up comedians.
The Graduate Comedy program consists of a total of sixteen modules running over 36 weeks.
To qualify for SchoolCreative’s Full Time Comedy Conservatory, applicants must;
Have Graduated from Grade 12 or equivalent (BC high school diploma, BC Adult Graduation Diploma, General Educational Development (GED)), or an equivalent secondary school completion from another jurisdiction; or have mature student status (age 19 prior to the start of classes) and demonstrated competence at the appropriate level of literacy, numeracy, comprehension and/or written skills to enable success in the program.
Consider themselves to be relentless artists driven to exceed even their own expectations in their quest to create meaningful and entertaining work. To demonstrate their willingness to learn and ability to take direction, students will be interviewed and put through an audition process by the Admissions Director.
The Comedy Conservatory’s admission requirements are based on completion of The Acting for Film, Television & Voice-Over program or completion of a comparable program of study, deemed so, by the Senior Educational Administrator. “Comparable programs of study” will be considered provided that they are a minimum of 6 months of full time study in the areas of acting or voice or movement or dance. Proof of this study will be evidenced by one of Certificate, Diploma or Degree, copies of which will be placed in the prospective student’s file.
Applicants with mature students status, and/or students whose first language is not English, below are the minimum scores required from any one of the following tests in English proficiency: IELTS, TOEFL, TOEIC or Cambridge. If necessary, we may also require a telephone or in-person interview.
We have one intake for The Comedy Conservatory in March of each year. Classes occur Monday through Friday 10:00am to 3:30pm and the program runs for 9 months. We are always accepting applications for upcoming terms, please find start dates below.

SchoolCreative prides itself on keeping course fees competitively priced, if not significantly lower than those offered by other creative institutions. Tuition fees are payable in Canadian dollars, and are inclusive of taxes. International students pay the same as domestic residents.
