The 2D Animation Intensive is a comprehensive program with a strong emphasis on traditional drawing and storyboarding skills, and how to effectively incorporate them into today’s technology.
In addition to studying classic drawing, software and design skills, students will graduate with a professional portfolio to be used in applying for professional work.
This program is designed with considerable input from those who hire and develop professional artists, giving our students an unparalleled competitive advantage in the industry upon graduation.
The 2D Animation program at SchoolCreative places the majority of its focus on the core concepts of drawing. Students will learn design, life drawing, composition and perspective. These skills are essential to any students success not only in gaining employment in the animation industry, but thriving in it. Industry professionals, currently working in their fields will mentor students on the software, skills and techniques that are currently being used throughout the industry today. Guest Speakers of various animation disciplines will provide valuable insider knowledge, secrets and trends on the animation world today. At the end of this program students will have gained the necessary knowledge, skills and business know-how required to be successful in the animation industry.

Graduates can gain employment as concept artists, animators, colour stylists and storyboard artists. Our goal is to get our students out of school and into the studio as soon as possible after graduation. SchoolCreative’s “all killer, no filler” industry-standard training was designed to make our students employable and competitive upon completion of our programs.
Over a period of 12 months, students in the 2D Animation program will be instructed on core drawing fundamentals, design, animation, software essentials and visual storytelling over a dynamic 952 hour program of classroom instruction.
To qualify for full-time training in SchoolCreative’s 2D Animation Diploma Program:
Applicants with mature students status, and/or students whose first language is not English, below are the minimum scores required from any one of the following tests in English proficiency: IELTS, TOEFL, TOEIC or Cambridge. If necessary, we may also require a telephone or in-person interview.
Our animation programs have one intake per year occurring in September. Classes in this 47 week program typically run Monday through Friday between the hours of 9:00 am and 6:30 pm with open lab time from 8:00 am – 10:00 pm Monday to Friday plus weekends. We are always accepting applications for upcoming terms, please find start dates below.
