Mark Sheilds

  • Acting

Mark specializes in voice instruction and performance coaching. For nine years he studied the Speech Level Singing (SLS) vocal technique and from 2007-2013 was part of their teacher-training program. Mark was honoured to become a Certified Speech Level Singing Instructor endorsed by world-renowned voice instructor Seth Riggs (best known for his work with artists such as Michael Jackson and Stevie Wonder). His technique is not restricted to one particular genre. Instead, it’s based on how the voice functions, allowing his students to perform diverse roles for productions such as Disney Cruiselines and John Frost’s Australian run of The King and I. Locally he has helped students prepare for artist development deals and performances for Off Key Improv group, Shambhala Music festival and Marcus Mosely Chorale. Mark has performed through Europe, Australia, India and Canada for audiences including Princess Anne at The Institute of Directors’ Annual Conference. After completing performances at Tibetan orphanages in Northern India, Mark’s group had the privilege of being rewarded with a private audience with the Dalai Lama at his birthday celebrations in McLeod Ganj.
