Kris Elgstrand

Award-winning screenwriter, director and producer, Kris Elgstrand wrote and directed the short films Love Seat (VIFF 2006; winner, Best Short, Whistler Film Festival) and In Her Ear (VIFF 2007). His work as a screenwriter and producer includes the feature-length comedy, The Cabin Movie (VIFF 2005), and the shorts Man Feel Pain (Winner BravoFACT Short Cuts Canada Award, TIFF 2004) and Big Head (VIFF 2009). Most recently, he wrote and co-directed the feature comedy, Doppelgänger Paul (or A Film About How Much I Hate Myself), which premiered at TIFF 2011, was released in Canadian theatres in 2012 and is now available internationally through iTunes. Originally trained as an actor, Kris began his career as a playwright and performer. His plays have received successful productions in New York, Philadelphia, Vancouver, Seattle, Whitehorse and Winnipeg among other places. IMDB
