Kathleen Hinkel is a Vancouver-based photographer who has been working professionally in photojournalism, sports photography and commercial photography since 2004. Kathleen holds degrees in journalism and visual journalism from the University of Iowa and Brooks Institute of Photography. Kathleen began her photography career working as a newspaper photojournalist in Florida where she gained confidence taking descriptive photos in a diverse environments. Kathleen covered a number of internationally relevant stories including the NASA shuttle program, Hurricane Katrina, the local tolls of the Afghan and Iraq wars in this position while also covering regional news and professional sports such as the NFL, the NBA, MLB and the Daytona 500. Today Kathleen’s work focuses on photojournalism, editorial travel photography, sports photography and commercial work.
