Joe Kim is a 9-year game industry veteran with over a decade of experience in the professional gaming sphere. He has a double honours degree from McMaster University where he majored in English Literature and Digital Media Studies.
Joe’s path to game development started from a unique origin–professional gaming. He competed as a professional Quake 3 player at international tournaments where at the pinnacle of his career he ranked as Canada’s top player. He has also been involved with the World Cyber Games, the world’s largest e-sport event, from 1999 – 2013 where he was employed as the tournament director.
Joe’s Game Design career began in the car-combat and driving genre. After helping launch the Full-Auto series on the PS3 he relocated to work at EA on the Need for Speed franchise and third-person action games. Currently Joe can be found working as an independent developer on mobile games.
