Daniel is an award-winning Canadian actor, writer, and producer for the stage and screen. Most notably, he recently starred as Holloman in the feature Lawrence & Holloman, which he co-wrote with director Matthew Kowalchuk, based on the play by Morris Panych. Lawrence & Holloman was theatrically released in Canada and won 12 jury awards, with Daniel winning Best Actor in a Comedy at the Victoria Texas IFF, being nominated for the Leo Awards for Best Lead Actor in a Feature Film, Best Screenplay, and Best Feature, and the film was also nominated for Best Screenplay at the 2014 Canadian Comedy Awards, winning Best Feature Film. Daniel’s next feature screenplay Any Night, based on the multi-award winning play he co-wrote/performed Off-Broadway with Medina Hahn, has been developed by Movie Central and Creative BC and has won the nation-wide CFF Super Channel Screenplay Award.
So far in his career, Daniel has been nominated for three Leo Awards, four Jessie Richardson Awards for Outstanding Actor, garnered a VTXIFF Jury Award, two Sterling Awards for acting and writing, and one of his mentors Daniel MacIvor bestowed upon him and his colleague Medina Hahn the protégé portion of the $100,000 Siminovitch Prize, Canada’s most prestigious theatre award.
