Crystal Verge is a writer of screen, stage, and non-fiction, with a number of projects in various stages of production and development. Her MOW, “Fatal Memories” directed by Farhad Mann, starring Italia Ricci, Magda Apanowicz and Kevin McNulty is broadcast on TF1 in Europe and Lifetime in the U.S. She is currently a finalist in the running for the Prestigious Hedgebrook Screenwriters Residency with her Theatrical Feature Film, Vera’s Shadow. Her full length play, ‘For The Love Of Gracie’, is undergoing development at The Great Canadian Theatre Co. in Ottawa and is slated for production at Presentation House Theatre in Vancouver. The play was a finalist in both Nightwood Theatre’s National Playreading Festival, and Touchstone/PTC/Firehall Theatre’s, Flying Start Program. Her non-fiction has been featured in magazines and periodicals such as Equus, Natural Horse, Dressage Today, Prism, Fugue, and The National Post.
As an actress, Crystal has had many lead roles on stage in theatres across Canada, as well as supporting and principal roles in Television and Film. She holds a BFA in Creative Writing from the University of British Columbia, 2006, and a Diploma in Theatre Arts from George Brown College in Toronto.
Crystal is passionate about human and animal rights, and is happiest in the forest or beside the ocean.
