Andy Bartlett started his animation journey by studying character animation at Sheridan College in 1982. While still attending school, he was hired to work as an assistant designer on “The Care Bear Movie” at Nelvana Studios in Toronto, where he remained for the next 5 years animating on several various TV and feature productions, excepting a one year stint working in Paris on an ‘Asterix’ movie.
In the late 1980’s, Andy joined the Vancouver animation scene where he has been a fixture ever since. Here Andy has animated or storyboarded on many productions including Ren & Stimpy, Tank Girl, The Thief & The Cobbler. Ultimately, Andy became a director on several productions, including, Aaargh!, It’s the Mr Hell Show, Woody Woodpecker, and Being Ian, for which he won a Leo Award. In addition to his animation work, Andy has been a sought after instructor at numerous schools over the past 25 years. He now shares his time between instructing and freelance production work through his own production company.
