Online Games

Course Purpose

In this course, the student is introduced to the basics of designing and scripting for an online game.

Course Goals and Outcomes

Specific areas the course will look at include:

  • Interface design
  • Deterministic scripting
  • Scripting online games
  • Turn based games
  • Asynchronous gameplay considerations
  • Keeping everyone in synch
  • How to “cheat” the system in order to gain performance.
Supplies and Equipment

Students are required to bring the following with them to classes: 3” binder with paper and tabs, notebook, pen, pencil, highlighter, calculator. It is required that students have computer access outside of class.
