Using an existing commercial game engine, students will learn the level design process for a variety of game genres.
Course Goals and Outcomes
Specific areas the course will look at include:
- Level Efficiency and design ethics
- Using light to create tension
- Scripted events
- Giving player tips via the environment
- Managing the learning/fun curve inside of the level.
Supplies and Equipment
Students are required to bring the following with them to classes: 3” binder with paper and tabs, notebook, pen, pencil, highlighter, calculator. It is required that students have computer access outside of class.
