Photography is literally ‘light writing’. In the “Exploring Light” module, students will learn the concepts and properties of light and how to harness these both creatively and technically.
Course Goals and Outcomes
After completion of the instructional hours, the successful student will have a comprehensive knowledge of how light interacts with the digital sensor. They will be able to evaluate ambient light levels and determine how to set-up artificial light sources to successfully light the photograph they plan to capture.
Supplies and Equipment
Any binder, notebook or device for note taking: paper, pens, pencils, highlighters, laptop computer, iPad, etc. Digital SLR Camera, USB jumpdrive, Speedlight Flash, hand-held light meter, basic lighting kit.
