The emphasis of this course is to prepare the student for graduation and final portfolio development and working in the industry within a studio or as an independent animator or director. Students will design a Portfolio that focuses on creating a Demo reel and Website that showcase their work and help them establish a career in the animation industry.
Course Goals and Outcomes
Using elements from their student projects & assignments to create their video demo reel and portfolio and present them in a professional manner are the goal of the course.
The business of the Animation industry will be discussed in how it relates to getting into and maintaining a successful and rewarding career.
Guest lecturers such as Human Resource personal and Recruiters will further enlighten them on the requirements and expectations of being employable and working as a Professional in
a Studio environment.
In addition students will go on Studio tours to get an idea of how things work and relate to the courses they are studying.
We will discuss ways in how to promote yourself, including: Preparing Resumes & Cover letters / Applying for jobs / Approaching employers / Job interview training / Networking by attending Job Fairs, Festivals and Seminars
